Founded in 1937, Toyota Motor Corporation was recently the world's largest automaker. Its brands include Toyota, Lexus, Scion, and Hino; market share in Japan is 48%, while U.S. share is about 14.5%. The firm also owns nearly 25% of Denso, a parts supplier. Toyota sold 8.9 million vehicles in fiscal 2013; sales excluding financial services were JPY 20.9 trillion. Toyota also has a financing arm, holds ownership in telecommunications firm KDDI, and manufactures homes.
